Well, it's very good to be with
you all this evening. You know how much I love this
congregation and look forward to the times when we can worship
together. I pray the Lord will bless us
this evening. If you would, open your Bibles
with me to Hebrews chapter 12. I titled the message this evening,
Cling to God's Grace. Cling to God's Grace. Hebrews
12, verse 28. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom,
which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve
God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is
a consuming fire. Now the writer here says, let
us have grace. And the phrase means let us hold
fast to grace. It means let us cling to grace. Let us be clothed with grace
and let us be joined to grace. joined to grace so that we cannot
be separated from it. And when I began working on this
message, I was going to entitle it God's Grace, but the writer
here says, let us cling to grace. And I pray this evening that
the Lord may enable me to preach God's grace in such a way that
we will leave here believing it and clinging to God's grace. Now we know, if you've been here
and heard the gospel very much at all, you know this, that we're
completely dependent upon the Lord to save us. Salvation is
not by our works. We're not saved by our works.
We're not kept by our works. We're saved and we're kept by
God's grace. But this is also true. We should
hang on to God's grace. We should hang on to it like
our salvation depends upon our grip upon it. upon God's grace.
We should hang on to God's grace desperately. I know I'm not saved
by my clinging to God's grace, but I don't want to let go of
it, do you? I don't want to let go of God's grace. I am determined
by God's grace that I'm going to hang on to grace, that I'm
going to hang on to Christ with everything I've got. Because
David, I don't have any other hope. That's my only hope. I'm
determined not to look away from God's grace. I could look to
something else that might add to God's grace. I am determined
to preach nothing but God's grace and to never compromise God's
grace. I am determined to be motivated
to follow the Savior and serve our God by nothing but grace. That is clinging to God's grace.
Now, the only kind of grace that will save a sinner, the only
kind of grace that's worth hanging onto is God's grace, God's grace. You can define grace by many
different terms, but the only kind of grace that will save
a sinner is God's grace, the kind of grace only God can give. And this evening, I want to give
you 11 words from the word of God that describe God's grace,
and I promise you I'll be brief. I know 11 sounds like a lot,
but I promise you I will be brief. Now first, turn with me to Genesis
chapter six. This is the first time the word
grace is used in scripture. And this first time grace is
the word grace is used in scripture tells me a few things about God's
grace. And number one is this God's
grace is electing distinguishing grace. Genesis six, verse five. And God saw that the wickedness
of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of
the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it
repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth and it
grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy
man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man
and beast and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air, for
it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah, but Noah. Don't you love the but gods in
scripture? But, Mitch read that in Ephesians
chapter two. Those 10 verses may be my favorite
verses in all of God's word. but God. Here, but Noah, found
grace in the eyes of the Lord. God's grace is electing, distinguishing
grace. There are millions of people
on earth at this time, and God was going to wipe out all of
creation, but God. He chose to spare only Noah and
his family. Out of the millions of people
that were on earth at that time, God chose to save eight souls.
Now that is electing, distinguishing grace. Noah didn't deserve to
be spared, did he? Noah didn't earn grace from God. Noah found grace in the eyes
of the Lord. Noah found grace. You know why?
Because God chose to be gracious to him. That's why he found it.
And from that day, from Noah's day till today, absolutely nothing
has changed. God still has a people that he
has elected under salvation and God's gonna save them. The Apostle
Paul says in Romans 11 verse five, even so then at this present
time, at that present time and this present time, also there's
a remnant according to the election of grace. God's elected a people
and he's going to save them. Not one of them is going to perish. Now let us hold fast to electing,
distinguishing grace Because my friend, electing grace is
our only hope of salvation. No son of Adam by his nature
will ever choose God. No son of Adam left to our nature
will ever choose God's way of salvation in Christ unless God
chose them first. The only way we'll ever choose
God is if he chose us first. Just like the only way we'll
ever love God is if God loved us first. The only way we'll
ever choose God I do. I can tell you honestly, I choose
salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. I don't want it any other way.
Even if I could be saved by something, I don't want it. I don't want
nothing to do with that. I choose salvation in Christ
alone, by God's grace alone. Then let's claim that grace and
let's preach that grace and never back off this truth of God's
electing grace. It's our only hope. All right,
number two, God's grace is saving delivering grace. Every human being on the face
of the planet drowned in that flood, except for Noah and his
family. Noah was saved by grace. Peter tells us God spared not
the old world, but he saved Noah. He saved him from the flood.
Noah was saved from drowning in the flood because Noah was
in the only place of safety in the whole world. There was one
place of safety in the whole world. It was in the ark. And
Noah was in the ark. Now, why was Noah in the ark?
God called Noah into the ark, didn't he? Noah built that ark
and it was finished, and God called Noah into the ark. And
then you know what God did? God shut the door. He shut him in. So he could not be anywhere but
safe inside that ark. And that's a picture of salvation.
Salvation is in Christ. Salvation is had by being in
Christ. Christ is the only place of safety
from God's wrath against our sin. And just like that rain
that fell, that rain that fell in Noah's day was God's wrath
upon sin. God's wrath against Noah's sin
still fell, didn't it? But where did it land? On the
ark. And those floodwaters that came up, that's God's wrath against
Noah's sin. Why didn't Noah drown? No, Noah
was in the ark. The ark bore that for Noah. Now,
this is the glorious doctrine of representation. God sees the
whole human race in one of two representative men, either in
Adam or in Christ, the second Adam. And oh, the blessing that's
found by being in Christ. In Adam, there's sin and unrighteousness,
but in Christ, there's righteousness. In Adam, all die. In Christ,
all are made alive. In Adam, there's wrath from God.
In Christ, there's peace with God because the wrath of God
against the sin of his elect has fallen upon the Lord Jesus
Christ. He satisfied justice for his
people. Now, the only way a sinner like
you and me could ever be saved from our sin is by God's grace. We can't earn it. We can't deserve
it by anything that we do because everything we do is sinful. Everything
we do just deserves more wrath. So salvation can't be by works,
can it? Salvation can only be by God's grace in the Lord Jesus
Christ. And here is good news. Here is
good news for sinners. The worst of sinners can be saved
by grace. The Apostle Peter in Acts chapter
15 verse 11 said, we believe, speaking of the Gentiles, we
believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we
shall be saved even as they." Now, you know those Jews considered
the Gentiles to be the worst sinners that could possibly be.
And Peter didn't say, no, they can be saved same way as we are.
No, he said, we will be saved same way as them because we're
just as bad. If salvation is by works, then
I don't have any good news for the worst of sinners. If I gotta
do something in order to have this salvation, there's no good
news for me. I may as well shut my Bible and
go on home, because there's no good news for me. But if salvation
is by grace, the worst of sinners have hope. Hope in the Lord Jesus
Christ. Now brethren, let's hold fast
to saving grace. It's the only hope of the salvation
of our souls we have. The writer to the Hebrews says,
outside of Christ, God's a consuming fire. So let's hold fast to grace
and not depend upon our works for one second, but to depend
on Christ alone. Third, God's grace produces the
obedience of faith. God told Noah, build an ark. Noah, there's going to come a
flood. There's going to come rain. Noah had never seen rain. Noah had never seen a flood.
Noah had never seen a boat. But you know what Noah did? He
got busy building an ark. It's the obedience of faith.
Noah started building that ark because he believed God. He believed
that there's salvation in the ark. And while he was building
that ark, Noah preached, didn't he? He's a preacher of righteousness.
How come nobody else got in that ark? And Noah did. Noah believed
God. Why did Noah believe God? Nobody
else did. Because Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
It's God's grace that enabled Noah to believe. And then how
can Noah build an ark? Noah had never been to engineering
school. He'd never seen a ship. How can Noah build an ark? God's
grace enabled him to do it. And he built an ark. He did what
God told him to do. But this is the obedience of
faith. Noah built that ark. But he didn't trust his life
to his boat building ability. He trusted his life to God. God
said, I'll save you a life. See, trust to God, that's the
obedience of faith. Now God tells us, believe on
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. But I can't produce that kind
of faith. Listen, I tried for years to make myself believe
and I couldn't do it. Well, you're right, you can't
produce that kind of faith. Then how am I gonna believe?
by God's grace. He gives grace to believe. That's the obedience of faith.
What we're told to do is trust Christ and Christ alone for all
of our salvation, and God gives grace to have that kind of faith.
And the obedience of faith is to serve the Lord. Just whatever
it is God has given you to do in his kingdom, and every believer
here, God's given you something to do in his kingdom. Do it with
all you've got. Never trusting it for any of
your salvation. Do it with all you've got, never trusting it
to add any of your salvation, but trusting Christ alone. That's
the obedience of faith, to believe Christ. All right, now look at
Exodus chapter 33. Here's the fourth thing about
God's grace. God's grace is his greatest glory. Exodus 33, verse
18. Here Moses is speaking with the
Lord, and he, Moses, verse 18, said, I beseech thee, show me
thy glory. And he said, I'll make all my
goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the
Lord before thee, and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious,
and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. And he said, thou
canst not see my face, for there shall no man see me and live.
And the Lord said, behold, there's a place by me, and thou shalt
stand upon a rock, and it shall come to pass while my glory passeth
by that I will put thee in the cliff of the rock, and I will
cover thee with my hand while I pass by, and I will take away
my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts, but my face shall
not be seen. Now Moses, from the time he was
just a little teeny tiny fella, knew he's the deliverer. His
mother taught him that. His mother taught him that God
had said, this is the deliverer. And you know the story of Moses.
He got to full strength of years. He thought he was gonna deliver
Israel by the power of his might. What happened to him? He got
run out of town on a rail. He spent 40 years on the backside
of the mountain, keeping the sheep of his father-in-law. He'd
been there so long with nobody but those sheep, Moses forgot
how to speak. I mean, this is a highly educated
man. He's the prince of Egypt. And
he'd been out there, so he forgot how to speak. And God came to
him when Moses finally knew he was nothing and said, Moses,
go down there and tell Pharaoh. I said, let my people go. Moses,
I can't do it. God said, yeah, you can. And
he went and he did it. Moses stood there in that throne
room of Pharaoh and said, God said, let my people go. Pharaoh
said, I won't do it. all the plagues in Egypt, the
wonders of God's power in Egypt. He saw the first Passover. Moses
saw that. Moses standing on the banks of
the Red Sea, he saw the Red Sea. He saw it part. He saw that dry
land. He saw three million people and
their animals walk across on dry land. And Moses turned around
and watched Pharaoh and his army coming through on that dry ground.
and God brought the waters, he drowned every last one. Not one
soldier was left, could ever harm them again. He saw that.
He saw the cloudy pillar. He saw the fiery pillar. Moses
talked with God. And after all that, he saw God
speak to him from a burning bush. The bush burned, it wasn't consumed.
Moses, he saw all that. After all that, Moses said, God,
show me your glory. Moses, are you up in your sleep? Show me your glory. Moses knew there's some greater
glory than this. He'd seen the acts of God. Now
he wanted to see God's glory. And God said, all right, Moses,
I'll show you my glory. And what did God reveal to Moses?
God revealed to Moses his sovereign mercy to sinners. God said, this
is my glory, Moses. I'll be gracious to whom I will
be gracious. God's greatest glory is He's
gracious to sinners. He's gracious to whom he will
be gracious, and he passes by whom he will. Grace and mercy
are God's to give. And this glory, God's greatest
glory, is that the holy, just God, would be gracious to any
sinner. Think what a sinner is. A sinner
is someone whose every act they've ever done, every thought they've
ever thought, is sin against God. and that God would be gracious
to any. That's God's greatest glory.
God's greatest glory is not that he passes somebody by. That's
just justice. Anybody can understand that.
God's greatest glory, the glory that we cannot understand with
the human mind is that almighty God would be gracious to anyone
and that he would come by and pick them up and put them on
the rock. He put them on Christ, the rock
of ages, just like he put Moses in the cleft of the rock when
he passed by so that Moses would live and not die. That's how
God saves his people. He chooses those people. He lets
them under salvation and he puts them in Christ. He passes by
so they live and will not die. Now that's God's greatest glory. Then let's cling to God's greatest
glory. Let's seek to know more of God's
greatest glory and his sovereign mercy to sinners. And by God's
grace, you can say you've seen it, haven't you? You've seen
firsthand God's greatest glory, his mercy to sinners. Would you like to see more of
it? Oh, I would. I would like to see more of it.
Then let's do everything we can to learn more of God's sovereign
grace. So we'll see sinners saved. So
we'll be able to rest more fully in Christ our Savior. All right,
now look across the page, Exodus 34. Here's the fifth word, it's
pardoning. God's grace is pardoning grace.
Exodus 34, verse eight. And Moses made haste and bowed
his head toward the earth and worshiped. And he said, if now
I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, "'If I have
found grace in thy sight, O Lord, "'let my Lord, I pray thee, go
among us, "'for it is a stiff-necked people, "'and pardon our iniquity
and our sin, "'and take us for thine inheritance.' "'To hear
Moses pray that the Lord "'would pardon the sin of Israel, "'not
because Israel deserves it, "'but because God is gracious.' "'David
had the same cry. "'He said, O Lord, pardon mine
iniquity, "'for it is great.'" Now, when God pardons sin, God's
pardon of sin is not like when we pardon. Recently, there was
a whole lot of news in the state of Kentucky about the governor
pardoning people, and people didn't like it, because justice
is not being served. Well, when God pardons sin, he
doesn't ignore sin, and he does not violate his justice. No,
justice still must be satisfied. The penalty still must be paid. Now, grab ahold of something
solid. And God pardons sin. You know why he pardons sin?
Because he punished his son fully for it. God pardoned the sin
of his people because the son of God satisfied justice by dying
as a substitute for his people. I cannot imagine a greater thought
than that. Can you? That God would pardon
the sin of guilty, vile, wretched sinners. by the dying blood of
his precious, perfect son. That's grace, pardoning grace. I hesitate to even take that
on my human, sinful lips. Pardoning grace. A greater story
cannot be told. And brethren, let's cling to
that grace for all we're worth. We have no hope of pardon with
God because, well, you know, I sin less than these other people. No, I can't have that hope because
I'm like David. My iniquity is great. Let's cling
to this grace. The only hope of pardon we have
is that God punished his son so he could pardon my sin. And
even though my sin is great, where sin abounded, God's pardon
and grace to much more bound, much more bound. Why wouldn't
you wanna cling to that? I don't wanna be clothed with
that, don't you? All right, now look at John chapter one. Here's
the sixth thing. God's grace is in Christ. If you're gonna preach grace,
you've got to preach Christ, because God's grace is in Christ. John chapter one, verse 17. For the law was given by Moses,
but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Now, the law came by
Moses. It came through Moses when God
gave it to him, didn't it? But the law, the law is just
and holy and right and good. But the law gives no forgiveness
for sin. The law gives no salvation to
sinners. The law gives no righteousness
and no life. The law gives no acceptance with
God. The law certainly gives no rest
or hope or peace because the law always says, I don't care
how well you've done up to now, the law always gives you more
to do. There's no peace, there's no rest in the law. But grace,
oh now grace came by the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace comes to
sinners because Christ earned it for them by his obedience.
And Christ is full of grace and truth. That's what the end of
verse 14 says. He's full of grace and truth. And sinners receive
grace from Christ because he's full of grace. He's full of truth. He's so full of it, there's plenty
for every sinner who needs grace. See verse 16, in all of his fullness,
of his fullness of his grace, have we all received and grace
for grace. Now God's grace is in the Lord
Jesus Christ. He's full of it. There's plenty
of grace in Christ for you. Now, what's stopping you from
going to Christ? What's stopping you? Nothing
but your rebellion. Nothing but your self-righteousness.
If you need grace, go to Christ. You'll find plenty in Him there.
And let's cling. Let's cling to that grace that
is in Christ alone. You know, if we're clinging to
grace, we know that it's in Christ alone. You know what we'll do?
We'll seek Christ. We'll seek Him constantly. We'll
seek to be saved by Christ. We'll seek to be made righteous
in Christ. We'll seek to be accepted of
the Father in Christ. If we're seeking Christ, we will
make Christ our aim in everything that we do. And I'm sure of this. If we seek Christ, we'll find
Him. And we'll find His grace. Because God's grace is all in
Christ. All right, now look over at Romans chapter three. The
seventh word is justifying. God's grace is justifying grace. Romans three, verse 24. Being justified freely by his
grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Now
to be justified is to be made without sin, to have no sin.
Now all we are is sin. The previous verse, verse 23
says, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
So the only way a sinner like you and me can be justified is
if Christ took our sin away from us and put it away by his sacrifice. He had to wash it away through
his blood. Then God, the Holy Spirit, Now
sin's been put away, it's been washed away, but God the Holy
Spirit has to give us a new nature. See, we've got a sin nature that
can't do anything but sin. So Holy Spirit has got to give
us a new nature that will never sin. See, justification is not
to be made just as if I'd never sinned. Justification is to be
made so that I have never sinned. And the only way that's possible
is if God causes a new man to be born in me in the new birth.
then let's hold fast to God's justifying grace. Let's never
claim to be better than other people. Let's never claim to
be less sinful than other people. Let's never claim to be better
than those heathen. Let's never claim to be better
than those in false religions. Let's never look down our nose
at those in false religion and say, oh, look at them. How much
better I am, how much smarter, how much more knowledgeable I
am than them. Let's never claim to be better than them, because
brethren, that's not so. It's not so. What made the difference? How come you're here tonight,
not some goat farm, as Brother Fortner calls them? Why is that?
Why? God's grace, isn't it? It's God's
grace. It's the only thing you contribute
to. Let's have our only hope of being standing before God
sinless. And that's the only way we can
be accepted of God. That's the only way we can be
in His presence is if we're sinless. And let's have our only hope
of being sinless before God in God's justifying grace that's
found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's seek to be found in Christ
and not on the rags of our own righteousness. Then the eighth
word is sufficient. Look at 2 Corinthians chapter
12. God's grace is sufficient grace. 2 Corinthians chapter
12, verse nine. He said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee,
for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore,
Well, I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may
rest upon me. I know that there are a lot of
things that we need to live in this world. You need food and
clothes and shelter in order to live. Your body's got to have
food. You can't be out in the elements.
You've got to have these things. I know that. And we sure would
like to have relief from sickness and pain and sorrow and suffering
of all the effects of sin in this body. We'd like to be relieved
of those things, wouldn't we? But there's one thing that we
need. We need Christ. We need God's
grace. I cannot go into eternity without
it. And I don't know all of you, your lives and what's going on
with you. But in a crowd of believers this
size, somebody's gone through something. It's deep, it's tough. Somebody is, I know that. And I say to you, to my brother
and my sister tonight, whatever it is you're enduring, whatever
it is, God's grace is sufficient for it. It will be. It will be. A year ago tonight, someone may
have told my darling daughter, Savannah, laying in a hospital
bed, now, honey, God's grace is going to be sufficient. Somebody
probably did say that. Did they lie? They didn't lie,
did they? Now, God's grace is sufficient.
And whatever it is that we're going through that's causing
us suffering right now, the Word of God says it's good for us.
It's good for us. It's good for us for sure in
this way. When these things come upon us and they make us realize
how weak we are, you know what that does to the believer? It
makes us depend upon our Savior even more. And that's good for
us. That's good for us. God's grace
will be sufficient. It'll be sufficient to save.
It'll be sufficient to strengthen. It'll be sufficient to comfort.
And it will be sufficient to bring you all the way to glory.
then let our determination be to depend upon God's grace and
never the arm of the flesh, because it's good for us to learn how
dependent we are. The less independent we are,
the better, because the more we'll depend on God's grace.
All right, now look at Galatians chapter one. God's grace is calling
grace. Galatians one, verse 15. but when it pleased God who separated
me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace to reveal
his Son in me. Now we've covered this, how the
Father elected a people to save in eternity. God the Son came
into flesh and he came to save those people and those people
only. He came to save them as their
representative. He came to save them by his sacrifice for their
sins. All right? It's a historical
fact. Jesus of Nazareth died upon the
cross. There's no denying this happened. So how do we know for
certain that all those people for whom Christ died shall be
saved? How do I know for certain that
none of them shall perish? Well, it's because God, the Holy
Spirit, is gonna call them. He's gonna call them to Christ
by his grace. And what a gracious call. God,
the Holy Spirit, would call a rebellious sinner and say, come to Christ. Come to Christ. Well, when will
that happen? When's God going to call his
elect? Because I'm, just to be honest with you, I want him to
do it right now. You know, back home, I think the Lord might
be dealing with some folks, and I'd like for them to come to
Christ and do it right now. But I don't know when that will
happen. When will the Lord call his people to Christ? When it
pleases him to do it. When he's pleased. And I know
this about your pastor in this congregation. You cling to God's
grace. You know how I know that? You
can tell if a man who's preaching really believes God's calling
grace is if he faithfully preaches Christ, never preaches anything
else, and then leaves people alone with God. He doesn't try
to talk them into doing something, doesn't try to talk them into
some sort of profession of faith, he just leaves them alone with
God. Because a person clinging to God's grace trusts God the
Holy Spirit's gonna call his people to Christ when he's pleased
to do it. And if I'm clinging to God's
grace, I'm satisfied to wait on God to do it. Then let's cling
to God's calling grace. Next, look at Ephesians chapter
two, passage Mitch read for us just a little bit ago. God's
grace is a free gift of God. Ephesians 2 verse 8, for by grace
are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it's
the gift of God. Now grace is God's free gift,
and by that I mean this, you can't purchase it by your works.
You can't make yourself more likely to get it by your works.
Salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast. The only
person who's gonna have any glory in this matter of salvation is
God. The Apostle Paul said, Romans 3, verse 25, that we're justified
freely by his grace, which is in Christ Jesus. The writer to
the Hebrews says we've received this kingdom. We haven't earned
it, we received it. How do we receive it? God gave
it to us freely, freely. Then let's live our lives depending
upon God's free grace and not think God's gonna be impressed
with us, with our works, with our service, Believer, be zealous
of good works. Now be zealous of good works,
but never think God's impressed with you. Never think you're
more saved or more righteous than somebody else. The only
way we can be saved is by God's free gift. The free gift of God. And then last, look at 2 Thessalonians
chapter two. 2 Thessalonians chapter two.
God's grace is a good hope for the hopeless sinner. 2 Thessalonians
2 verse 16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself,
and God even our Father, which hath loved us, and given us everlasting
consolation and a good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and
establish you in every good word and work. Now this is something
I've repeated over and over and over again. There can't be any
hope of salvation in anything Everything we do, our works are
full of sin and corruption. The only hope a sinner has of
salvation is God's grace. And God's grace is a good hope.
It's a good hope. God's grace is a good hope if
that's all you've got. If you've got something else,
then you don't have a good hope. If you've got God's grace plus
fill in the blank, you don't have a good hope. But if God's
grace is all you've got, you've got a good hope. And that hope
is not a hope like, I hope Kentucky wins a basketball game this week.
Probably not a very good hope. That's not hope like that. This
hope is an expectation. Because of God's grace, you can
expect God to give you everything he promised, eternal life. That's
a good hope. Then let us cling to God's grace
as our only hope of eternal life. The writer of the Hebrews says
in chapter 13, we won't get into that tonight, but he told us
to seek to be established in grace, to be rooted and grounded
in grace so that we cannot be moved away from it. Peter told
us to cling to grace and seek it constantly. Seek so that we
may grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. And my plea is, that God would
be gracious to us. He'd be gracious to me, he'd
be gracious to you. May God be pleased to show us
his grace and cause us to cling to it. That'd be a good hope,
wouldn't it? Let's bow together in prayer.
Our Father, human language cannot even express our thanksgiving
for your grace, your sovereign electing, distinguishing, free,
saving grace. Father, how we thank you. And
Father, I beg of you that you would be gracious to each heart
here tonight, that you take your word as it's been preached and
cause it to reach the heart of your people, to reveal Christ
the Savior, to cause us to see him, cling to him, to run to
him, to find in him all that we need, to find our rest and
hope and peace comfort and confidence in Christ and Christ alone. It's
in His blessed name that we pray and give thanks.
