Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is Sinner Saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
and God willing, this broadcast will reach you, Lima Charlie,
loud and clear. It is my hope and prayer unto
God Most High, the only Holy Father, that His only begotten
Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be greatly exalted,
that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed, that the
pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and that his
elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted in these
evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please finding closed encouragement
and so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ and saving poor needy and wretched sinners
by his sovereign free grace That is to say Almighty God in his
unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and from hell Reading from John 21 17 Peter
was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou
me? Peter had grieved his Lord by
three denials of him. Now his Lord grieves him with
three questions, respecting his love to him. We may often read
our sin in our punishment. Peter's Lord suffered him to
fall to lower his pride and self-confidence. Now he has caused him to descend
to the valley of humiliation. He keeps him there. A little
while since he boasted of his superlative love to Christ above
all the rest of his disciples. Though all men shall be offended
because of thee, yet will I never be offended. I'm ready to go
with thee both into prison and to death. Though I should die
with thee, yet will I not deny thee." Bold words. Who can doubt
the sincerity of Peter's heart in all this? Hence, learn first
the warm frames of young converts are often attended with great
self-confidence. There is much of nature's fire
in them. My heart has often rejoiced and
been warmed with love to hear the ardor and energy with which
some in their first love have spoken of precious Jesus. But
I have thought a sifting time will come. The Lord keep your
joyful hearts humble before him. Secondly, see the unchangeable
love, the sovereign grace of Christ to his dear disciples.
He told Peter of his fall and warned him against it. Yea, set
before him every particular aggravation of it. How blind are those who
see not here the divinity of our Lord. Notwithstanding this,
Peter abates nothing of his self-confidence. Must his fall cure him? Not that,
but Christ's grace raised and restored him. Falls into sin
naturally hardened through the deceitfulness of sin take heed
of looking to saints falls To make you think little of your
own Peter's fall was a damnable sin. He deserved hell for it
christ snatched him as a brand out of the fire His grace brings
good out of the evil of sin Let us glory of grace, but beware
of sin For thirdly souls raised by the grace of christ are grieved
for their base sins and falls Though the subject between christ
and peter was love yet. It grieves no threats of hell
and damnation Wound newborn souls like love Lovest thou me saith
the lord look back soul to thy past conduct say Was there warm
and generous love to uh to thy lord in it? Oh the thought of
past unkindness to Christ grieves the soul before them. As Christ
repeats the question, grief is enlarged. Fourthly, never think
you are truly raised from your falls and restored to the love
of Christ if you have not grief of heart for them. Christ's grace
melts into love. Love sinks into humility while
it kindles the fire of joy and excites a godly jealousy. There's
grief and love which none can tell at the affecting sight of
sin But those who know they're saved from hell and feel christ's
precious love within Humble me lord in unto the dust and make
me for my sins ashamed Save me from all self-righteous trust
and everything that may be blamed That was from preacher william
mason Storms sinking ships and The
Sleeping Savior, part one. In Mark chapter four, we encounter
a great storm story where it seemed to the disciples that
they were about to die. It is interesting to observe
the rulership and majesty of Jesus displayed throughout the
whole narrative. There was something about Jesus,
a compelling divine majesty that moved and conquered the hearts
of men. These disciples were experienced fishermen, and I'm
sure some of them must have smelt the storm brewing. They were
fishermen. They knew how to read the signs,
yet they followed Jesus right into the storm. We see this divine
majesty demonstrated all through the master's life. Consider how,
for example, Christ walked up to Matthew, the businessman and
tax collector, and simply said, follow me. And Matthew instantly
got up and left everything except his pen. Christ did the same
to Peter and the fishermen instantly left his nets. If you don't think
there's anything special in that, just try it yourself. Just go
into a thriving business and try commanding the owner to leave
everything to follow you. That puts it into perspective,
doesn't it? Jesus spoke and people followed.
There's something majestic and compelling about his call in
untold numbers. through the ages have heard it
and left everything to follow the master. Now in this passage,
Jesus says with the same authority of majesty, let us go to the
other side. That was the word of the Lord
and he got into the boat to see that his word was performed.
There was no way then for that boat to sink since Jesus had
said they were going to the other side. So watch how these fishermen
follow the carpenter and how the carpenter leads them straight
into the storm. We need to understand this. Following
Jesus is never easy. He has the persistent habit of
leading his followers into difficult situations. By the way, they
didn't arrive in the storm because they were out of the will of
God, but rather they sailed right into the heart of the storm because
they were in the very center of the will of God. We need to
learn from this that the desire to have a trouble-free life is
a non-starter. It just isn't going to happen.
We want Jesus the problem solver, but he sometimes says to us,
hello, I'm Jesus, the problem maker. In the midst of the storm,
the disciples panicked. What they forgot was that Jesus
had spoken and given his word that they were going to the other
side. What can we learn from this is that between us receiving
the promise of the of the Word and the provision of the promise,
there is often a problem. And it's there, in the problem,
that He demonstrates His divine power and majesty. It's there,
in the midst of the storms of our life, that He tests us to
show us whether or not we believe in His majesty, His deity, and
His absolute power. But something worse than that,
the fact that Jesus led them into the storm, is that Jesus
in the midst of the storm goes to sleep. Have you ever been
in a storm and it seemed as if Jesus had forgotten you? It seems
he is asleep. Don't panic. This is God at work
exposing your attitude to him and his promises. The storms
come, but Jesus hasn't gone anywhere. He's right there with the disciples. They are in his presence. Jesus
has given his word that they are going to the other side so
that there is no way that boat can sink. Jesus may be asleep
in the back of the boat, but at the same time as he is sleeping,
he is upholding the universe by the word of his power. see
hebrews 1 3 and that's the gospel truth till he comes that was
from preacher miles mckee for us the savior bled To save us
from eternal death, Christ suffered in our stead. The Son of God
laid down His life for us, the Savior bled. For us, He bore
the wrath of God, the awful agony to rescue us from guilt and shame,
from sin to set us free. For us, Christ shed His precious
blood. For us, the judgment bore. The
Lamb of God was sacrificed to save us evermore. God's justice. can demand no more. The law is
satisfied. For us, he was the substitute,
and we are justified. The empty tomb of Christ proclaims,
redemption works is done. The sins of all his chosen race
were canceled by God's son. For us, the Savior reigns above.
Through him, all blessings flow. And soon for us, the Lord shall
come. Then to him we shall go. Reading from Psalm 31, 15, and
16. My times are in thy hand. Deliver
me from the hand of mine enemies and from them that persecute
me. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant. Save me for thy
mercy's sake. I give grateful praise to the
Lord that all of life's experiences are in his hand. My times are
not in my hand. my enemy's hand, nor the hand
of my friends. Everything that will happen to
me is under the sovereign absolute control of my Heavenly Father.
Number one, the time of my natural birth was in his hand. My earthly
sojourn began at the moment God ordained in old eternity. Number two, the time of my second
birth was in his hand. When it pleased the Lord, he
who gave me physical life gave me spiritual life through his
gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit. I was made alive by effectual
mercy, which life was evidenced by repentance toward God in faith.
and the Lord Jesus Christ. I was brought to trust Christ
alone for salvation and contented to be saved by the Lord's mighty
grace with no contribution on my part. 3. The times of delight
and the times of trouble are in His hand. The joyful times
and the sorrowful times, the moments of happiness as well
as those of sorrow and pain, the times of prosperity as well
as need and times of neediness, the times of health as well as
the times of sickness and disease are all in His hand. Number four,
the time of my physical death is in his hand. As the Lord said
to Israel in Exodus 23, 26, the number of thy days I will fulfill. I am immortal until my wilderness
journey is completed. At that very moment, my soul
will leave this body by whatever means he has determined and take
its flight into the presence of my glorious savior to be with
him forevermore. In short, All my times are appointed,
decreed, ordained, and governed by God my Savior. What a comforting,
soul-thrilling fact this is to me and to all our Lord's people.
Let this blessed truth soothe our hearts as we continue our
pilgrimage through this world. From preacher Jim Bird. Who gets the glory? The grand controversy between
corrupt nature and the Almighty is, who shall have the glory
of salvation, God or the creature? The pride of man says, the glory
of salvation is due to me, for I can save myself. But Jehovah
takes the glory of salvation to himself and says, I will have
all the glory thereof, for it is by my sovereign and efficacious
grace that men are saved. Thus pride is their principal
cause of the enmity there is between carnal mind and God.
It is at the bottom of all the opposition made to those doctrines
of scripture which illustrate and advance the almighty power
and free grace of God and the salvation of sinners." That was
from preacher Augustus Toplady. It is written, Isaiah 45, 22,
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else.
And the master, Jesus Christ, says in Matthew 11, come unto
me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest
unto your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near, only by being in Christ, the ark of our salvation. May we be delivered from the
fierce wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the
wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust Almighty God will awaken
His sleeping elect and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around
the world to His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our
righteousness, Yehovah Sidkenu. Baruch Hashem, bless the name.
Holy One of Israel, HaKadosh Yisrael. Hallelujah. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen. Maranatha.
