In the sermon "Storm Warning #84," the primary theological topic revolves around the assurance of God’s enduring presence and salvation through covenant grace. Speakers emphasize the continuity of God’s faithfulness, arguing that He remains committed to His people despite their failings. Critical Scriptures such as Psalm 48:14, Jeremiah 32:40, and Revelation 3:20 underline God’s promise to guide believers eternally and the assurance of salvation contingent upon His unchanging nature rather than human merit. The practical significance lies in the comforting realization for believers that their salvation is secure, derived solely from God's covenant love and not their actions, reinforcing core Reformed doctrines of grace and the perseverance of the saints.

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is sinner saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the brothers and
sisters in Christ Jesus. at First Baptist Church located
in Almont, Michigan, USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God most high, the only holy father, that his
only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted, that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and
that his and next saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted
in these evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! A reading from Psalm 48, verse
14. This is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even unto
death. Here is, first, the joyful claim
of faith. This God, just as those sinners
saw Him as visible, pointing to Him and exulting in Him, is
our God. It is our special mercy that
we do not serve an unknown God. Our God has manifested himself
to us, is known by us. We have felt his sovereign grace
and almighty power. within us. Hence, we own Him,
come to Him, and rejoice in Him as our covenant God in Christ. He came from heaven to earth
to seek and to save us. He has given us hearts to ascend
from earth to heaven. There we view our reconciled
God and Father at perfect peace with us, our God Redeemer, ever
living to save us, our God and Comforter, winging the joys of
salvation into our hearts. And thereby sanctifying us unto
eternal glory as it is written in Zephaniah 3 17 this our god
even ever rests in his love to us Also as it is written in jeremiah
32 40. He will never turn away from
us to do us good For second, He is our God forever and ever,
not only yesterday and today, while our frames are warm and
lively and our comforts are strong, but through every revolving period
of time and in every distressing circumstance. Oh, distressing
thought, if God were ever to cease to be our God. Some say
God may be our loving God and Father today, but tomorrow may
cast us off in His wrath and become our implacable enemy forever. What? Does God beget children
for the devil? Has Christ redeemed souls by
his blood which may be damned in hell? Does the spirit quicken
and sanctify souls who may inhabit the bottomless pit? Oh, this
is not the language of scripture and faith, but of ignorance and
unbelief. It comes from devilish pride,
thinking we do something to cause God to be our God. It tends to
dreadful presumption, thinking we can do something to keep him
our God. It ends in awful desperation,
for if we fail on our parts, we lose God in our souls forever.
No, but third, oh joyful truth, our God will be our guide even
unto death. Then we cannot send our souls
out of his hands, for Christ's blood cleanses from all sin. See 1 John 1 7. We cannot forfeit His mercy.
It endureth forever. See Psalm 106 verse one. He will
guide us into all truth. See John 16, 13. His truth forbids all sin. Everlasting
love constrains from it. His promises excite to all holiness. And we're filled with all joy
and peace in believing Him. When He says, I will never leave
you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13, five. The God we worship now will guide
us till we die, will be our God while here below and ours above
the skies. Outstanding, from old-timer preacher
William Mason. The gospel comprehends a discharge
from punishment, a remission of sins, the gift of righteousness,
the endowment of sanctification, redemption from every evil, the
adoption of sons, the inheritance of heaven, and a most endeared
conjugal relation to the infinitely majestic Son of God. Reading from Psalm 18, verses
one and two. I will love thee, O Lord, my
strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress
and my deliverer, my God, my strength, in whom I will trust,
my buckler and the whore of my salvation and my high tower.
I will praise the name of Jesus, prophet, priest, and reigning
king. Join with me and bow before him, unto him your homage bring. I will praise the name of Jesus,
who descended from above, came to save his chosen people, sent
by God in covenant love. I will praise the name of Jesus,
who upon Mount Calvary shed his blood to seal my pardon, died
from sin to set me free. I will praise the name of Jesus,
risen, conquering, gracious friend. Jesus is my mediator. All my
hopes on him depend. I will praise the name of Jesus.
Oh, how good he is to me. I will gladly bow and worship,
praise his name eternally. I will praise the name of Jesus
till I see his blessed face. Then throughout the endless ages,
praise him for his love and grace. Those words were written by preacher
Jim Bird to the tune of the old hymn, "'Tis So Sweet." Question,
man's will or God's will? The first man sinned against
God in the garden, and as the federal head of mankind, he plunged
us into a state of separation from our creator. Let it be known,
however, that the fall of Adam, far from ruining the purpose
of God, worked to its fulfillment. It is the restoration of sinners
that god's greatest glory is manifested and all his attributes
are wonderfully displayed Note that adam and eve when they heard
the voice of god. They hid themselves from the
presence of the lord genesis 3 8 Was the creator coming to
justly pronounce their doom? Would they feel the fury of his
anger? Must they perish in their sins? Would the judge come to
them in the heat of his vengeance? Behold the amazing grace of God. It is not with words of judgment
that he comes, but with words of mercy. He approaches them
not to pronounce their eternal woe, but to declare their eternal
salvation. The Lord did not proclaim everlasting
doom, but everlasting life through a substitute. Instead of wrath,
there is mercy. Instead of unending misery and
torment, they shall have everlasting joy and happiness. Now let me
ask you, who in their right mind would attribute the salvation
of those two guilty, undeserving rebels to their so-called free
will or works? Read the scriptures honestly. Who is doing the seeking? The
sinners or God our Savior? Who desired restoration of fellowship? Who in his infinite wisdom devised
the way whereby the guilty could be brought back to divine favor?
Only a spiritually dead rebel would ever attribute salvation
to the will or works of men. The Lord was in pursuit of the
fallen and proclaimed the seed of the woman in Genesis 3 verse
15 would come and crush the head of the tempter. And then the
Lord illustrated the gospel of substitution and satisfaction,
which we read in verse 21 of Genesis 3. As our fallen parents watched,
no doubt in horror, the Lord shed the innocent blood of animals,
skinned them, and then clothed Adam and Eve. The guilty would
live, not at the expense of justice, but in a manner consistent with
justice. God had declared death to be
the penalty of sin, Genesis 2.17, and the animals died in the stead
of Adam and Eve. 4,000 years later, the seed of
the woman came, and it is written that Christ suffered for this
purpose, to bring us unto God, 1 Peter 3.18. The Savior died
in the stead of his people, that God might be just, and the justifier
of him which believeth in Jesus, Romans 3.26. God's word shall
endure. Psalm 119.86, all thy commandments
are faithful. God's word is all true. The longer
we live to test and try it, the more we will find it to be worthy
of our total confidence. Those who doubt its truth have
never really proved its power. Those who mistrust it to any
degree are as yet like inexperienced sailors who are constantly doubting
and fearing what is going to happen. Those who have done business
on the great waters of the ocean of divine inspiration, see Psalm
107.23, however, and who have seen the wonders of the Lord
there will tell you that though heaven and earth shall pass away,
the word of God shall never fail. We have seen a thousand things
in the course of our earthly pilgrimage, but there is one
thing that we have never seen and we will never see. God proving
unfaithful to his promises and deserting his people in their
time of need. He is faithful that promised. Hebrews 10, 23. And what a promise. Thank you, Lord God Almighty.
What a wonderful savior. During the 1800s, a group of
American ministers visited England, prompted especially by a desire
to hear two celebrated preachers of that land. One Sunday morning,
they attended the city temple, where the preacher was standing
by to give the message. Some 2,000 people filled the
building, and the preacher's forceful personality dominated
the service. His voice was commanding, his
language descriptive, his imagination lively, and his manner animated.
The sermon was scriptural, the congregation hung onto his words,
and the Americans came away saying, what a wonderful preacher that
man is. In the evening, they went to hear another preacher
at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. The building was much larger
than the city temple, and the congregation was more than twice
the size. The preacher's voice was much
more impressive and moving, and his oratory was noticeably superior.
But they soon forgot all about the great building, the immense
congregation, and the significant voice. They even overlooked their
intention to compare the various features of the two preachers. And when the service was over,
they found themselves saying, what a wonderful savior is Jesus
Christ. That was from preacher Jim Byrd
of 13th Street Baptist Church, located in Ashland, Kentucky,
USA. The ship shall never sink, Matthew
14, 24. But the ship was now in the midst
of the sea, tossed with waves, for the wind was contrary. This
is the case with the good ship of the church of Christ today.
It is tossed with waves and the wind is contrary. It is very
contrary just now, but then Christ is still pleading for the ship
and all on board. And while he pleads, it can never
sink. The gospel signifies the doctrine
of grace and of complete salvation in Jesus Christ, which elect
sinners shall receive by faith. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22,
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else.
The master also says in Matthew 11, 28 through 30, come unto
me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek
and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your souls, for
my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Friends, it is imperative
that you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none
of us are promised another day on this planet. Today is the
day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust Almighty God will awaken
His sleeping elect and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around
the world to His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our
righteousness. Yehovah Sidkenu. Bless the name. Baruch Hashem. Holy One of Israel. Hakadosh Yisrael. Hallelujah. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come. Great is our Lord Jesus
Christ, and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends. Our mighty
and glorious King of glory is inbound for his afflicted saints. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus. Maranatha.
