The Apostle said, “Though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of.” I’m just a sinner saved by the grace of God. All that I have, know, and hope to be is by the grace of God. “Necessity is laid upon me”—I must preach the gospel, for I love the gospel, I am saved by the gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only gospel, and all men need to have and believe the gospel. “Yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.”

Now, as a hearer of the gospel, can you say the same thing that the preacher of the gospel said?

  1. “If I hear and believe the gospel, I have nothing to glory of.” It is the gift of God.
  1. “Necessity is laid upon me; I must hear and believe the gospel.” How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?
  1. “Woe is unto me if I do not hear and believe the gospel.” Our Lord said, “He that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life.”
