How can God perfect our worship?

Answered in 1 source

God perfects our worship by gradually transforming us and removing our sinful barriers, allowing us to worship Him in spirit and truth.

In Psalm 138:2, the psalmist expresses a desire to worship God genuinely, as one should. Yet, recognizing our sinful inclinations, believers often feel inadequate in their worship. However, the promise of God is that He will improve our worship, making it pleasing in His sight. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, we are gradually aligned with God's standards of worship, which is characterized by sincerity, reverence, and truth (John 4:24). This transformation is an ongoing process where God perfects our motives, enhances our understanding of who He is, and enables us to worship Him wholeheartedly, free from the hindrances our flesh presents. Thus, we await the full experience of perfect worship in eternity, as He shapes our hearts now.
