How can someone be assured of their salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Assurance of salvation comes from faith in Christ and understanding His finished work.

True assurance of salvation is grounded in the knowledge of Christ and His redemptive work. The experience of assurance is not found in our subjective feelings or actions, but in understanding that Christ's sacrifice was sufficient and complete. Colossians 2 indicates that full assurance comes from knowing Christ, and Hebrews 6 states that it stems from faith. Trusting in Christ and looking at His promises provide the believer with confidence that they are secure in their salvation, as it rests solely on His righteousness.
