How can we apply the concept of zeal according to knowledge?

Answered in 1 source

We must ensure our zeal for God is grounded in the truth of His Word and not merely in fervent activity (Romans 10:2).

Romans 10:2 points out that zeal without knowledge can lead to misguided efforts in worship and service. Many individuals exhibit fervor and passion for God but may often miss the core truths of the Gospel, seeking to please God through actions disconnected from His revelation. This kind of zeal can result in legalism or empty religious practices. To apply this concept, Christians are called to align their passion for God with a correct understanding of Scripture and the Gospel. This means engaging in study, seeking sound teaching, and ensuring that our motivations are rooted in God’s grace and truth. True zeal, therefore, should provoke a response that points to Christ and His finished work rather than our own achievements.
