How can we be assured of our eternal life?

Answered in 1 source

Our assurance of eternal life comes from the belief in Christ as the one who grants salvation to the elect (John 17:2).

The assurance of eternal life is rooted in the belief that Jesus Christ grants eternal life to those whom the Father has given Him. In John 17:2, it is made clear that Christ has authority over all flesh to give eternal life to His chosen ones. This assurance is not based on personal merit or works, but rather on faith in the sufficiency of Christ's redemptive work. Those who trust in Him can be confident that their eternal life is secure because it is based on God’s promise and sovereign choice, not on their fluctuating feelings or performance.
