How do we know Christ is the true Shepherd?

Answered in 1 source

We know Christ is the true Shepherd through His fulfillment of prophecy and His sacrificial role as revealed in the Gospels.

The identity of Christ as the true Shepherd is confirmed through both Old and New Testament prophecies. Ezekiel 34 prophesies a future shepherding of the people of Israel, which Jesus fulfills by declaring Himself as the Good Shepherd (John 10:11). His sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of His people shows His power and willingness to save, confirming that He is indeed the only Shepherd who leads to true salvation and security.
