How do we know Christ's righteousness is enough for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ’s righteousness is sufficient for salvation because He fully satisfied God's justice through His death and resurrection.

The righteousness of Christ is foundational to our assurance of salvation. According to 2 Corinthians 5:21, 'For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.' When Christ died for our sin, He bore the full weight of God's wrath, thus fulfilling the law on our behalf. This substitutionary atonement allows us to be seen as righteous before God, not because of our own efforts, but because of what Christ accomplished at the cross.

Psalm 25 and various scriptures affirm that God does not look at our sinful nature but through the lens of Christ’s perfect righteousness. This becomes our hope and assurance; as we believe in Christ, we obtain righteousness that is not our own but has been gifted to us through grace. Therefore, we can have confidence in our salvation, knowing it rests solely on His merit, not ours.
