How do we know God is in control of our suffering?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty assures us that He ordains our suffering for a purpose.

The assurance of God's sovereign control over suffering is rooted in Scripture, particularly demonstrated in Romans 8:28. The Apostle Paul writes, 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' This clearly indicates that God orchestrates all events, including suffering, for the benefit of His people and for His glory. In Lamentations 3:32-33, we see that while God may allow grief, He does so with compassion and not willingly, thus confirming His tender mercy in our trials.
