How do we know God's judgment was upon Jericho?

Answered in 1 source

God's judgment on Jericho is shown through the annihilation of the city except for Rahab's house, as He had declared it accursed.

In Joshua 6, we see God’s sovereignty in judging Jericho, a city marked for destruction due to its wickedness. God's proclamation that the city was accursed (Joshua 6:17) comes to fruition when the walls fall, leaving only Rahab's house standing. This demonstrates God's ability to execute His judgment regardless of human fortifications, teaching us that His purposes prevail. The guilty are judged, but God's mercy is extended to those He chose, exemplified in Rahab's rescue.
