How do we know God's ways are different from the world's?

Answered in 1 source

God's ways are contrary to worldly wisdom, which often exalts self-interest and pride.

In 1 Samuel 2, Hannah states that 'The Lord killeth, and the Lord maketh alive; He bringeth down to the grave, and He bringeth up' (1 Samuel 2:6). This underscores the biblical principle that God often works in ways that defy human logic; the exaltation of the humble and the abasing of the proud is a recurrent theme in Scripture. Unlike the world, which teaches success through self-promotion and strength, God teaches that true strength comes through weakness and dependency on Him. Thus, believers are called to rely on His wisdom rather than human understanding.
