How do we know God's will is a mystery?

Answered in 2 sources

God's will is a mystery because it is part of His eternal redemptive purpose, which is often concealed from human understanding until revealed by the Spirit.

The will of God is described as a mystery in both its nature and its discernment. According to Ephesians 1:7, God's redemptive will is intricately connected to our salvation in Christ, and it is a purpose established before time began. 1 Corinthians 2:7 emphasizes that this wisdom is hidden but can be understood through spiritual revelation. The mystery lies not only in its profound nature but also in how it is disclosed to humanity, as only those drawn by God can grasp these divine truths. The natural man is incapable of understanding God's will without the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit, which makes discerning His will a matter of revelation rather than human reasoning.
