How do we know God will complete the work He started in us?

Answered in 2 sources

We are assured that God will complete His work because it is He who initiates our salvation and sustains us through His grace.

The assurance comes from the promise found in Philippians 1:6, where Paul states that God, who began a good work in believers, will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. This reflects the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints: that those whom God has called will not ultimately fall away because their salvation rests not on their efforts, but on God's unchanging mercy and power. Our confidence is in the character of God—He is faithful and sovereign, ensuring that the work He has started in each believer will be brought to completion. This is strengthened by the biblical testimony that God does not abandon the work of His hands.
