How do we know grace and justice can coexist?

Answered in 1 source

Grace and justice coexist perfectly in the person of Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the law by His death and resurrection.

The coexistence of grace and justice in God is revealed through the work of Jesus Christ. According to Romans 3:26, God is both just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. This means that while God's holiness necessitates justice for sin, His love provides a way for sinners to be forgiven. Jesus accomplished this by fully satisfying God's requirement for justice through His substitutionary death on the cross. In doing so, He made it possible for grace to be extended to sinners without compromising God's righteousness. Therefore, grace does not bypass justice; rather, it fulfills it through the sacrificial love of Christ.
