How do we know grace is more effective than the law?

Answered in 1 source

Grace is more effective because it abounds where sin is present, offering redemption through Christ.

Grace, as articulated in Romans 5:20, abounds even more than sin does, providing forgiveness and righteousness that the law cannot offer. The law exposes sin and brings condemnation, serving as a mirror to our failures, but it is under grace that we find true redemption. Christ fulfilled the law by bearing the penalty in our place, demonstrating that while the law reveals our shortcomings, grace ensures our hope through Jesus' sacrificial love. In essence, grace transforms us from being mere lawbreakers to being children of God, empowering us to live in accordance with His will.
