How do we know if we are true believers?

Answered in 8 sources

We know we are true believers by evaluating our worship, our joy in Christ, and our reliance on Him rather than our own efforts.

The Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:3 provides three infallible indicators of true believers: they worship God in spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and do not place confidence in the flesh. These marks highlight a spiritual reality rather than a superficial practice. True worship is essential; it arises naturally from the heart and is not dependent on external circumstances or rituals. Rejoicing in Christ signifies that believers center their lives around Him, valuing His person and work above all. Additionally, having no confidence in the flesh means rejecting the notion that one's own actions or feelings can secure God's favor. This self-examination leads to a deeper understanding of one's faith and reliance on Christ alone.
