How do we know if we are true Christians?

Answered in 1 source

We can examine ourselves against the truths of Scripture to determine if we are truly in the faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5 encourages believers to examine themselves to see if they are truly in the faith. This self-examination is crucial for identifying whether one genuinely follows the teachings of Christ. It's not enough to simply claim to be a Christian; one must assess their belief in the core doctrines of the Christian faith, particularly regarding salvation through Christ alone. By measuring our beliefs and practices against the scripture, we can ascertain whether we possess a true understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. This involves a sincere commitment to God's Word and an acknowledgment of our need for grace, reminding us that faith itself is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9).
