How do we know Jesus grants or denies our requests?
Answered in 1 source
Jesus responds to our requests based on His infinite wisdom and what is ultimately for our good.
In examining Jesus' interactions with the Gadarene man and the people of Gadara, we see that His responses are guided by a benevolent wisdom. The man who had been healed requested to stay with Jesus, but instead, Jesus sent him back to his home to be a witness for the Gospel (Luke 8:39). This illustrates that sometimes our desires may not align with the greater plan God has for us.
Jesus understands what is truly beneficial for our souls. While we may feel it is best to remain close to Him physically, He may know that our testimony among our family and community can yield greater fruit for His Kingdom. Thus, it teaches Christians to align their expectations with Christ’s sovereign will, trusting in His judgment regarding our requests.
