How do we know Jesus is the true king?

Answered in 7 sources

Jesus' claim to kingship is affirmed by His teachings, miraculous works, and the acknowledgment of His sovereignty in Scripture.

Jesus declares His kingship in various ways throughout the Gospels, especially highlighted during His trial where He affirms, 'To this end was I born' (John 18:37). His miraculous works, such as feeding the 5,000, demonstrate His divine authority and compassion, which corroborate His identity as king (John 6:15). The accusations against Him, particularly the title placed on the cross, 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews,' reveal how even His enemies recognized His royal claim. Furthermore, scriptures like Psalm 2 affirm His divine kingship as established by God. Thus, both His actions and the prophetic word clearly establish Jesus as the true king.
