How do we know Jesus suffered in the flesh?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus’ real humanity is confirmed by his suffering and cravings expressed during His passion.

The suffering of Jesus must be understood through the lens of His true humanity and divinity. The Gnostics in John's day complicated this by denying the physical nature of Christ, incorrectly asserting that He could not have truly suffered because that would imply evil. However, the scriptural assurance in passages like John 1:14 and 1 Timothy 3:16 affirms that Jesus was indeed both fully God and fully flesh. His statement 'I thirst' signifies the real sufferings He endured in both body and soul, as He faced the wrath of God for sin, encapsulating the very essence of His sacrifice.
