How do we know justification comes through faith?

Answered in 1 source

Justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by the works of the law (Romans 3:28).

The doctrine of justification by faith is a core tenet in Reformed theology. In Romans 3:28, Paul emphatically states that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. This is a critical distinction because it highlights that our righteousness before God is based solely on faith in Christ's redemptive work, not on our compliance with the law. The law's role is to point us to our inadequacies and lead us to Christ, who fulfills the law's demands perfectly. Therefore, faith in Jesus, and not our works, is what makes us just in God’s sight.
