How do we know our hope in Christ is true?

Answered in 19 sources

Our hope in Christ is grounded in historical fact—the resurrection—and the promises of God which demonstrate His faithfulness through scripture.

The certainty of our hope in Christ stems from both historical events and divine promises. The resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of Christian hope, as it affirms His victory over sin and death, proving that He is alive today (1 Peter 1:3). The scriptures further assure us that God is faithful to His promises, stating in Hebrews 6:19 that this hope acts as an anchor for our souls, steadfast and secure. Furthermore, our personal experiences of God’s faithfulness throughout our lives affirm this truth, as we see His guidance, protection, and love manifest in our journeys. Thus, our hope is not based on whims but on the solid foundation of Christ’s work and God’s unchanging character.
