How do we know that believers are secure in their faith?

Answered in 2 sources

Believers find security in their faith through God's promise to preserve the inner life He has given them.

Believers can rest assured in their security because of the divine assurance that God gives regarding the preservation of the inner life. The metaphor of a spring indicates not only the sacredness of the believer's heart, but also its security. The believer holds a promise that even if adversities arise, the immortal principle instilled within them will remain intact. This assurance is rooted in the very nature of God's commitment to safeguard what He has entrusted to them, affirming that no external force can jeopardize the relationship they have with Him. As stated, 'who is he that shall harm you when God is your protector?' This reinforces a believer's confidence in their standing before the Lord.
