How do we know that believers will not turn away from Christ?

Answered in 1 source

True believers cannot turn away from Christ because they have experienced the incomparable grace of God.

The sermon emphasizes that once someone has genuinely tasted the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, they will find nothing else satisfying. Like Esau, who sold his birthright for temporary gain, those who turn away demonstrate they never truly possessed faith. In the parable, the preacher illustrates this by stating that once you have tasted something superior, like a wonderful dessert, you will not go back to inferior options. This reality assures us that true believers, touched by the grace of God, will persevere because they cannot find fulfillment apart from Christ. Their assurance lies not only in their choice but in the sovereign grace that sustains them.
