How do we know that Christ is the only one who pleases God?

Answered in 1 source

God is pleased with Christ alone, who perfectly fulfilled the law and satisfied divine justice.

The immense importance of Christ's role is encapsulated in the affirmation that God the Father stated, 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.' Only by being in Christ can we know the pleasure of God. All offerings and sacrifices we might make fall short without Christ as our righteousness. It is through His sacrifice that the demands of God's holy law are satisfied, and He alone becomes our advocate before God. Our attempts to gain His favor through our works are seen as idolatry unless they are rooted in faith in Christ.
