How do we know that faith results in righteousness?

Romans 5:1 states, 'Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' This demonstrates that it is through faith that believers receive the righteousness of Christ, allowing them to stand justified before God. Our righteousness is attributed to us by believing in the sacrificial atonement of Jesus.
