How do we know that God approves of us?

Answered in 2 sources

We are approved by God through faith in Christ, who is the ultimate touchstone and evidence of our genuine salvation (1 Peter 2:6).

God's approval is rooted in faith, specifically faith in Jesus Christ. This approval is not something we earn but is a result of God's grace and the work of Christ in our lives. The sermon emphasizes that God tries and proves His people as gold is assayed; it is Christ who is the touchstone against which our faith is tested. As we are united with Him, our lives reflect His righteousness, thus demonstrating that we are indeed approved in His sight. This is particularly true as we endure trials and tribulations, which ultimately reveal the genuineness of our faith (1 Peter 1:6-7; Romans 8:28-30).
