How do we know that God is providential in our suffering?

Answered in 1 source

We find assurance in Job's testimony that God, despite allowing suffering, remains sovereign and able to work all things for good.

The narrative of Job firmly illustrates the providence of God amidst suffering. From the outset of Job’s trials, it is clear that God permits these afflictions but does so with a greater purpose in mind. Even when Job feels abandoned and accuses God of injustice, he ultimately trusts in God’s overarching plan for redemption. This trust culminates in his declaration of faith, stating he knows his Redeemer lives (Job 19:25). The story reassures us that God’s providence guarantees that no suffering we endure is without significance, suggesting that our hardships are part of His divine purpose. In both the low and high points of life, God’s presence remains constant, providing comfort and hope.
