How do we know that God is sovereign in our distress?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty is evident in how He orchestrates circumstances in our lives, even in times of distress.

As portrayed in David's life, despite facing overwhelming opposition from Saul, the Philistines, and even his own men, God was sovereignly directing events. Romans 8:28 reassures us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This demonstrates that even our mistakes or the actions of others cannot thwart God's overarching plan. David's distress was part of a divine orchestration that eventually led to his exaltation as king. Trusting in God's sovereignty means believing that He has a purpose for every trial we face, using them to grow our faith and reliance on Him.
