How do we know that God protects His chosen people?

In John 17:9-10, Jesus clarifies who He intercedes for, stating, 'I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.' This distinction emphasizes that Jesus' protection is specifically for His chosen ones. The assurance of this divine safeguarding lies in the character of God Himself, who is faithful to answer the prayers of His Son. Unlike human prayers that can be influenced by desires or misconceptions, Jesus asks with complete alignment to the Father’s will and purpose. Therefore, those who genuinely belong to Him can rest assured that they are under His protective care, as He will not allow the evil one to undermine the salvation secured for them.
