How do we know that God seeks the lost sheep?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that God, like a good shepherd, actively seeks out those who have strayed from Him.

One of the most comforting truths in the Scriptures is that God takes the initiative to seek out His lost sheep. In John 10:11, Jesus declares, 'I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.' This signifies not only His care and concern but also His willingness to sacrifice for our redemption. Furthermore, in Luke 15:4-7, Jesus tells the parable of the shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to find the one that is lost, illustrating God's relentless pursuit of those who have gone astray. It displays His deep love and commitment to restore each individual to His fold, demonstrating that He does not abandon us in our wanderings.
