How do we know that God uses adversity for our good?

Answered in 1 source

God uses adversity to teach and refine His people, often resulting in spiritual prosperity.

The Bible illustrates that God often employs adversity as a tool for the spiritual maturation of His people. Habakkuk’s experience reveals that while the Lord chastises His chosen ones, He also closely preserves an elect remnant. This aligns with the larger biblical narrative where God disciplines whom He loves to bring them closer to Him. The struggle itself is utilized by God to draw out genuine faith and reliance on His grace. As the apostle Paul writes, our tribulations produce perseverance, character, and ultimately hope, as seen in Romans 5:3-5.
