How do we know that grace does not run in bloodlines?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that grace is not inherited through family lineage but is granted by God's sovereign choice.

Scripture clearly states in John 1:11-13 that Jesus came to His own, but they did not receive Him. Rather, those who are born spiritually are born, not of blood or the will of man, but of God. This means that salvation is not about familial ties but is entirely a matter of God's sovereign grace and calling. This truth is echoed throughout Scripture as God's elect are chosen individually, as seen in the lives of Abel over Cain and Jacob over Esau. Thus, genuine faith and grace are personal and direct acts of God's mercy, independent of one's earthly parents.
