How do we know that Jesus is the perfect sacrifice for our sins?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is known to be the perfect sacrifice because He offered Himself once for all, unlike the repeated sacrifices of the Old Testament.

The New Testament clearly articulates that Jesus' sacrifice is sufficient and complete because He offered Himself once for all. Hebrews 7:27 states that He does not need to offer sacrifices daily as the priests did, first for their own sins and then for the people's sins. His one sacrifice was enough to perfect forever those who are sanctified. This is fundamentally different from the Old Testament system, which required ongoing, repeated sacrifices and was merely a shadow of the reality found in Christ. The assurance comes from our understanding of His unique position as fully God and fully man, perfectly meeting the requirements for the atonement of sin.
