How do we know that Jesus was innocent during His trial?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus' innocence is attested by multiple witnesses, including Pilate, who repeatedly stated he found no fault in Him (John 19:4).

Throughout the trial of Jesus, His innocence is vigorously affirmed by various sources. Pilate, the Roman governor, declared multiple times that he found no fault in Jesus, echoing the testimony of others who observed that He had committed no crime worthy of death. In fact, even after scourging Him, Pilate attempted to sway the Jews by presenting Jesus, bruised and mocked, hoping to elicit their sympathy, stating 'Behold the man' (John 19:5). Additionally, the testimonies of Judas, Pilate's wife, and the centurion at the cross further corroborate His guiltlessness. This collective acknowledgment serves not only to underscore the righteousness of Christ but also to highlight the grave injustice of His crucifixion, setting the stage for the ultimate sacrifice that would cover the sins of both Jew and Gentile.
