How do we know that the Spirit is with us?

According to 1 John 3:24, we know that He abides in us by the Spirit that He has given us. This Spirit is the one who teaches us to keep Christ's commandments and causes us to depend on God for our assurance. The evidence of the Spirit's presence in a believer's life is seen in our growing love for the brethren and our desire to obey Christ. Additionally, the inner workings of the Spirit help us in our moments of doubt, allowing us to approach God's throne confidently. The comforting work of the Spirit assures us that we belong to Christ and are indeed part of His family.
