How do we know that transformation is necessary for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Biblical teaching emphasizes that a transformed life is essential to reflect God's holiness and to live in obedience to His will.

Transformation is fundamental to the Christian life as outlined in Romans 12:2, where believers are urged to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. This transformation is not a mere suggestion but a command stemming from the mercies of God displayed in salvation. We learn that without a renewed mind, Christians risk being conformed to the world and losing their distinctiveness as followers of Christ. The call to holiness, as found in 1 Peter 1:15-16, also serves as a reminder that God’s holiness sets the standard for how we ought to live. Hence, transformation is necessary to prove what is good and acceptable and perfect before God.
