How do we know that we are walking in the Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are walking in the Spirit by the transformation in our lives and the fruit it produces (Galatians 5:22-23).

Determining whether we are walking in the Spirit is closely tied to the manifestation of the Spirit's fruit in our lives. Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If these qualities are increasingly evident in our daily lives, it is a strong indication that we are living under the Spirit's guidance.

Additionally, those who walk in the Spirit demonstrate a conscious commitment to surrender their will to God and seek His glory in all aspects of their lives. This involves a continuous renunciation of self and submission to God's Word. A believer walking in the Spirit also nurtures a desire for prayer, worship, and fellowship, evidencing a vibrant relationship with God. Therefore, the assurance of walking in the Spirit comes from both observable character transformation and a deepening relationship with Christ.
