How do we know the ascension of Christ is true?

Answered in 3 sources

The truth of Christ's ascension is confirmed through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the eyewitness accounts of His followers.

The ascension of Christ is substantiated by the fulfillment of His promises and the subsequent events on the day of Pentecost. In Acts 2:33, Peter declares that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was made possible by the exalted Christ, confirming that He had returned to heaven. Additionally, the disciples were granted the privilege of witnessing His ascension; this firsthand experience served to solidify their faith in His resurrection and exaltation. Christ's ascension is thus not merely an assertion but is backed by active participation in the life of the Church through the Holy Spirit’s work (John 16:7).
