How do we know the gospel is necessary?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel is necessary because it provides the power to save from the coming wrath of God (Romans 1:16-17).

The necessity of the gospel lies in its essential role in offering salvation from the wrath that is justly due to humanity because of sin. Paul emphasizes in Romans 1:16-17 that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. It is only through the gospel that individuals can escape the consequences of God's righteous anger against their sinfulness. The gospel not only reconciles humanity to God but also underscores the need for redemption, as the wrath of God will surely be revealed against all unrighteousness and ungodliness unless one has faith in Christ.
