How do we know the peace of God is true?

Answered in 2 sources

We know the peace of God is true because it flows from God's promises and is experienced by believers through faith in Christ.

The truth of the peace of God is affirmed through Scripture and the personal experiences of believers. God promises in His Word that He will grant His peace to those who trust in Him (Philippians 4:6-7). This peace is a confirmation of the believer's salvation and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The consistent testimony of countless Christians throughout history who have experienced this peace, even in dire circumstances, serves as further evidence of its reality. It is an abiding assurance that comes from knowing one's identity in Christ and the security of one's salvation.
