How does affliction relate to God's blessings?

Answered in 1 source

Affliction can lead to deeper spiritual blessings and reliance on God's grace.

Affliction plays a pivotal role in the life of a believer, often yielding spiritual blessings that surpass temporal discomforts. Paul's experience with his 'thorn in the flesh' demonstrates that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). It is through such afflictions that we learn to depend on God's grace and understand our weaknesses in light of His strength. As mentioned in Hebrews 12:11, chastening seems grievous at the moment, but ultimately yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness, indicating that God uses afflictions for our sanctification and growth in faith.
