How does Christ's priesthood fulfill the Old Testament law?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's priesthood fulfills the law by being the perfect sacrifice that replaces the old system of ceremonies.

The Old Testament law included a system of sacrifices and priesthood meant to guide God's people and foreshadow the coming of the ultimate Savior. However, these rituals were ultimately unable to save anyone, as emphasized in Hebrews 7:19, which states that the law made nothing perfect. Christ, as our high priest, fulfills and transcends this law by offering himself as the ultimate sacrifice. His priesthood is established based on an eternal covenant, illustrating that the previous ceremonial laws were a shadow pointing to the reality of salvation found in him. Thus, the believer's hope is solely rooted in Christ and his completed work.
