How does God reveal Himself to His chosen people?

Answered in 1 source

God reveals Himself to His chosen people through the gospel and by His Spirit, leading them to understand their need for Him.

The revelation of God to His chosen people often comes when they are in a state of loneliness and despair, much like Jacob. As the sermon notes, God often brings His elect to a place where they can see their sinfulness and their need for divine grace. It is through the preaching of the gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit that one comes to understand who God is and their standing before Him. Jacob's dream serves as a pivotal moment in his life, symbolizing God's personal revelation and assurance to him as part of His covenant community, which is still the way God works today.
