How does knowledge of the Bible relate to salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Knowledge of the Bible is essential, but it must be coupled with a personal relationship with Christ for salvation.

While knowledge of scripture is necessary for understanding God's plan of salvation, it is not the sole requirement for entering the kingdom of God. As highlighted in the sermon, the scribe had great knowledge but lacked a personal relationship with Jesus and genuine repentance. James 2:19 warns that even demons believe and tremble, emphasizing that mere intellectual assent is not enough. True salvation comes from both understanding the Word of God and responding to it through faith in Christ, along with a humble acknowledgment of our sinful state and need for grace.
