How does the Holy Spirit bring people to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit brings people to Christ by convincing them of sin and revealing the truth of the gospel.

The role of the Holy Spirit is fundamentally about conviction and illumination. In John 16:13-14, Jesus states that the Spirit of truth when He comes, will guide believers into all truth and glorify Christ. This means that the Holy Spirit acts as a divine agent who works in the hearts of individuals to reveal their need for Christ. He opens their eyes to the reality of their sinfulness and the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. Through the preaching of the gospel, the Spirit accompanies the message, applying it to the hearts of the hearers, enabling them to see their need for salvation and respond in faith. It is essential for Christians to recognize that apart from the work of the Holy Spirit, no one can truly come to faith in Jesus Christ.
