How does the light in Genesis relate to Jesus Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The light created in Genesis symbolizes Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World.

In Genesis 1:3, God said, 'Let there be light: and there was light.' This uncreated light foreshadows the coming of Christ, who declares Himself as the Light of the World in John 8:12. The light represents hope, truth, and the revelation of God to humanity. Just as physical light was essential for creation, spiritual light is essential for salvation. Jesus, as the Light, brings illumination to our understanding and offers salvation from the darkness of sin, making Him central to God's redemptive plan as it unfolds throughout Scripture.
