How does the sinlessness of Christ relate to salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sinlessness enables Him to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins, securing our redemption.

The sinlessness of Christ is directly related to the doctrine of salvation, as only a sinless being could adequately bear the punishment for the sins of humanity. Hebrews 4:15 states that Jesus was tempted in every way yet without sin, making Him the adequate substitute for our sins. This establishes the foundation for Sovereign Grace theology, which teaches that Christ's vicarious atonement covers all those whom the Father has chosen. Therefore, His sinless perfection assures believers that their salvation is secure, as they are clothed in His righteousness, blameless before God due to His redemptive work on the cross.
